David Mark Resigns from PDP, Joins Opposition Coalition

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dismissed reports alleging that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) refused to recognize its newly appointed leadership headed by Senator David Mark.

Mark recently emerged as the party’s Interim National Chairman, alongside several young Nigerians elected into the National Working Committee (NWC). Following this, the ADC submitted the list of its new leaders to INEC, as documented in its 99th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.

Despite the official submission, some reports circulating on social media claim that INEC rejected the new leadership—a claim the party now describes as false.

Reacting via a post on X, ADC spokesman Bolaji Abdullahi urged Nigerians to disregard the misinformation.

“The attention of ADC has been drawn to a story circulating that the @inecnigeria has refused to recognise the new leadership of our party under the Distinguished Senator David Mark,” he wrote. “This story is entirely false and should be ignored. We urge Nigerian people to ignore such misleading reports from any quarters and stay focused on mobilising the long suffering people of Nigeria for the great task to save our dear country.”
