ADC Crisis in Ebonyi: Adibe-Nwafor Insists She Remains Authentic Chair

Dr. Mrs. Jennifer Adibe-Nwafor has firmly reaffirmed her position as the legitimate Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ebonyi State, dismissing recent claims by Pastor Kenneth Ozioma-Eze as false and unfounded.
Speaking to journalists in Abakaliki over the weekend, Adibe-Nwafor condemned what she described as a “misinformation campaign” by individuals who, according to her, gathered in a hotel to declare Ozioma-Eze as chairman without any constitutional backing from the party.
“I still remain Dr Mrs Jennifer Adibe-Nwafor, the elected chairman of ADC in Ebonyi State. As for Pastor Ozioma-Eze, he is unknown to the party and has not registered as a member. The public should disregard the misinformation being circulated online,” she stated.
She clarified that the recent restructuring exercise carried out at the national level by ADC, during a meeting held on July 29 at Chelsea Hotel, Abuja, did not affect the party’s leadership in Ebonyi. According to her, the new national leadership under Senator David Mark has instead urged all state executives to remain unified and focused on grassroots mobilisation.
Dr. Adibe-Nwafor also issued a stern warning against fraudulent activities being allegedly carried out by Ozioma-Eze and his allies. She accused them of peddling fake grant forms and collecting private data from unsuspecting members of the public under false pretences.
She specifically called out Engr. Sunday Opoke, a former governorship candidate of the Young People’s Party (YPP), for swearing in Ozioma-Eze despite not being a member of the ADC. “Engr. Opoke is still affiliated with the YPP and has no role in ADC’s affairs,” she added.
Backing Adibe-Nwafor’s position, Comrade Igube Ejiofor Umoke, the party’s State Director of Media and Publicity, described Ozioma-Eze’s claims as “deceptive and misleading.” He warned of legal repercussions if those behind the impersonation do not withdraw their actions.
“Our loyalty is to the authentic leadership of Comrade Jennifer Adibe-Nwafor. Any attempt to hijack the ADC structure in Ebonyi State through impersonation or political fraud will be legally resisted,” Umoke stated.
The party also reminded the public that while ADC welcomes new members, all registrations must be done through proper channels and in line with the party’s constitution. Members of the public were urged to verify any party-related information directly at the ADC state secretariat in Abakaliki.
Looking ahead, the ADC leadership pledged to continue harmonising its structures across Ebonyi Central and other zones in a bid to consolidate internal unity ahead of future political contests.
