Actor Lalude Reveals He Was Paid N10,000 Daily to Campaign for Tinubu in 2023

Veteran Nollywood actor Lalude has disclosed that he and fellow actors were given N10,000 daily for feeding while campaigning for President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 elections.
In an interview currently circulating on social media, Lalude expressed frustration and regret over the hardship he and others have faced since Tinubu’s victory. According to him, they campaigned for over a month without any proper payment beyond the daily allowance.
“They were giving us N10,000 daily for feeding,” he said. “It was supposed to be more for the campaign work, but they kept it at N10,000. When they discovered we were saving part of the money, they started reducing it. Sometimes they wouldn’t give us anything for two or three days.”
He further lamented that, two years after the election, none of the promised rewards or payments for their efforts had materialized.
“After the whole campaign for a month and three weeks, they refused to pay us for it. Those withholding our benefits will not be fortunate for the rest of their lives,” Lalude added.
His comments come shortly after fellow actor Alapini similarly expressed regret for supporting Tinubu alongside many Nollywood colleagues.
During the 2023 general elections, several celebrities—including Saheed Balogun, Bimbo Akintola, Toyin Abraham, Eniola Badmus, Olaiya Igwe, and Seyi Law—publicly endorsed Tinubu. Their endorsements drew widespread backlash from Nigerians, with many fans unfollowing or criticizing them due to worsening economic hardship and insecurity under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
