Activist Raises Alarm Over Ruggedman’s Detention at Panti

Human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu has sounded the alarm over the detention of veteran rapper Ruggedman, disclosing that he is currently being held at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, Lagos.
According to Gwamnishu, the arrest was ordered by a Deputy Commissioner of Police in connection with internal matters involving the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN). He claimed, however, that no proper investigation has been concluded and alleged that Ruggedman and others in custody are being mistreated.
Taking to social media to raise awareness, Gwamnishu wrote:
“@ruggedybaba is currently detained at State SCID Panti on the instructions of a Deputy Commissioner of Police over PMAN issues.
No proper investigation has been concluded. He and others are being maltreated.
I wish to draw the attention of Nigerians to what is going on.”
As of now, there has been no official statement from the police regarding the detention or the allegations.
