Abia Police Command Professionalism: CP Danladi Isa Issues Strict Directives on Conduct, Social Media, and Detention Policy

In a bid to reinforce Abia Police Command professionalism, the Commissioner of Police, Danladi Isa, has issued a stern directive to all officers under the state command. Speaking during the monthly conference attended by Area Commanders, DPOs, Heads of Departments, and Tactical Commanders, the CP emphasized the need for integrity, discipline, and accountability in all police activities.
As part of efforts to promote Abia Police Command professionalism, CP Danladi instructed officers to avoid corruption, ensure suspects are not detained beyond 24 hours for bailable offences, and provide immediate medical attention to sick detainees. He also reiterated that senior officers would be held responsible for any misconduct perpetrated by their subordinates, urging them to strengthen internal supervision and accountability mechanisms.
In line with the drive for Abia Police Command professionalism, the CP strictly prohibited the operation of Point of Sale (PoS) businesses within police formations, emphasizing the need to preserve the integrity of police premises. Officers were further tasked with securing their stations, protecting public infrastructure, and enhancing collaboration with local government Mayors and communities to improve security and crime-fighting.
Commissioner Danladi Isa commended officers for their commitment but reminded them that the demand for greater responsibility and discipline remains high. He also celebrated the Abia State Police PRO, DSP Maureen Chinaka, for receiving a commendation from the Inspector General of Police and successfully completing a New Media Capacity Building course in China, describing it as a testament to the command’s growing professionalism and competence.
