Abia CP Decorates Promoted Officers,Charges Command on Professionalism and Discipline

The Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, CP Danladi Isa, has decorated 60 newly promoted officers, including Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs), Inspectors, and rank-and-file personnel, during a brief ceremony held at the Command Headquarters.
Following the decoration, CP Isa convened the Command’s monthly strategic conference at the Officers’ Mess, bringing together Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), Tactical Team Commanders, Heads of Departments (HODs), and other senior officers.
The conference featured a special session titled “Life After Retirement,” jointly delivered by the Assistant Commissioner of Police (Administration), ACP Enahoro George, and the Command’s Pension Officer. The session addressed welfare plans and retirement preparedness for officers nearing the end of service.
In his address, the Commissioner commended the personnel — especially tactical teams — for their dedication and consistent efforts in ensuring safety across the state. He attributed the Command’s recent successes to the professionalism and resilience of its officers.
He also shared key takeaways from the recently concluded Inspector General of Police’s Conference, emphasizing the importance of professionalism, integrity, intelligence-led policing, and timely response to security issues.
CP Isa noted ongoing improvements in the welfare of retired officers, and stressed the need for performance evaluations and strict adherence to the confidentiality of official documents.
He urged officers to prioritize their physical and mental health, boost intelligence gathering efforts, and steer clear of unethical behavior — particularly illegal vehicle checks carried out with the aim of extorting motorists.
The Commissioner issued a stern warning against over-detention, corruption, and any form of misconduct, calling on HODs to maintain strict supervision of their subordinates and monitor their Areas of Responsibility (AORs) diligently.
He concluded by charging the entire Command to remain committed to the protection of lives and property, reinforcing public trust, and upholding the core values of the Nigeria Police Force.
