The Amagu community in Ikwo local government area of Ebonyi State has expressed profound gratitude to Christian Asaga Nwali following the award of a contract for the construction of a motorised, digitally controlled, solar-powered borehole aimed at tackling long-standing water challenges in the area.
Nwali, who serves as Chairman of C-Sagas Group and founder of C-Sagas Foundation, was praised by community leaders for what they described as a life-changing intervention that will bring clean and sustainable water to thousands of residents.

In a statement issued on behalf of elders, women, youth, and children, the community described the initiative as “transformational,” particularly for the people of Akunakuna village, who have long suffered from acute water scarcity.
For generations, residents depended on unsafe sources such as open dams and shallow streams, leading to frequent outbreaks of waterborne diseases including cholera, typhoid, and dysentery. The burden of fetching water fell heavily on women and children, who often traveled long distances daily under harsh conditions.
The new borehole, powered by solar energy and equipped with digital control systems, is expected to provide a reliable and environmentally sustainable water supply. Community members noted that the project would eliminate dependence on fuel-powered systems and unreliable electricity, ensuring long-term access to clean water.
Leaders highlighted several key benefits of the project, including improved public health, enhanced educational outcomes for children, and increased economic opportunities through agriculture and small-scale enterprises. Women and girls, in particular, are expected to benefit from reduced physical strain and more time for education and productive activities.
They also commended the environmental foresight behind the project, noting that the use of renewable solar energy aligns with sustainable development goals and ensures minimal environmental impact.
Describing Nwali’s gesture as a hallmark of compassionate and visionary leadership, the community expressed optimism that the project would strengthen unity and significantly improve living standards across Amagu.
They further offered prayers for his continued success and dedication to humanitarian causes, noting that his contribution would be remembered for generations to come.
