Nigeria’s fourth-largest telecom operator, 9mobile, has launched a new brand identity called T2 as part of its strategy to strengthen market presence and deepen its digital focus.

Chief Executive Officer Obafemi Banigbe announced the rebranding during the official unveiling on Friday in Lagos.

Banigbe described the T2 identity as the start of a new chapter for 9mobile, emphasizing bold innovation, digital transformation, and a customer-first mindset.

“This is more than a brand reveal. It signals a new era in our company’s history. We are evolving into something bigger, more ambitious, and future-ready,” he said.

He explained that 9mobile is repositioning itself not just as a telecom provider but as a digital lifestyle enabler across multiple sectors.

The transformation aims to make 9mobile a cloud-native, data-driven, API-ready operator capable of delivering smarter, personalized services at greater speed.

“Going digital is not just a buzzword; it’s about empowering customers with tools and platforms that enhance their lives,” Banigbe added.

He stressed that this means putting control and convenience at users’ fingertips through technology and innovation.

Banigbe said the T2 brand embodies agility, resilience, and boldness—key qualities needed to thrive in today’s competitive market.

Acknowledging past challenges, he said the company’s comeback is driven by lessons learned and a strong resolve to succeed.

“We wear our scars with pride. Every setback has prepared us for this resurgence. We have come back sharper and more focused,” he noted.
