30 burnt to death along Lagos-Ore Expressway

The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ondo State, Samuel Ibitoye says at least 30 passengers have died in a road crash on Saturday evening at Mile 49 along the Lagos-Ore Expressway, near Ore, in the Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
Ibitoye who confirmed the incident on national TV revealed that no fewer than 30 people were burnt beyond recognition in the crash, which was caused by a head-on collision between two vehicles.
The Sector Commander explained that excessive speeding and traffic violations led to the fatal collision.
He expressed his concern over the tragic loss of life, urging drivers to exercise more patience on the roads to prevent accidents and save lives and property.
The bodies of the deceased have been taken to the General Hospital in Ore, while the two survivors, who suffered severe injuries, are receiving treatment at the same facility.
