2027 Election: Soludo affirms support for Tinubu during visit

With the 2027 elections on the horizon, Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has once again declared his open support for President Bola Tinubu, citing a friendship that has lasted over 22 years.
Speaking to reporters at the Presidential Villa in Abuja after a closed-door meeting with Tinubu, Soludo—wearing a white cap bearing Tinubu’s insignia and the words “Progressives are working together”—praised the president’s bold economic and structural reforms. He said all political parties committed to progressivism should unite in a broad coalition to strengthen democracy and drive national development.
“I have no apologies for my support,” he stated. “Tinubu has been my friend for 22 years—you don’t deny your friend. I’m impressed by his reforms; we are on the right path and must stay the course.”

The APGA leader also spoke on his administration’s crackdown on “deadly native doctors” in Anambra—traditional practitioners accused of misleading youths and pushing them toward crime—stating that many are now on the run. He credited the relative peace in the state to a holistic security approach, anchored on the Homeland Security Law passed in January 2025.
Soludo said his strategy combines kinetic operations with non-kinetic measures such as youth empowerment and job creation. “Our one-year skills training program has empowered about 5,000 youths, and another 8,700 will receive funding soon. We are creating thousands of youth millionaires in three years,” he explained.
Beyond infrastructure, school upgrades, and health facility rehabilitation, Soludo stressed his government’s focus on economic empowerment, intelligence gathering, and decisive action against lawbreakers to sustain security and growth across the state.
