Nigerian music star Timaya has shared details about how much he earned from his first two albums, revealing how his early deals helped launch his career.

Speaking in a recent interview with Okay Africa, Timaya disclosed that his debut album was initially sold for N500,000 to a marketer at Alaba Market. Despite the modest amount, he didn’t see it as a loss but rather a stepping stone.

“It was a big opportunity for me at the time,” he said, adding that after the album became successful, the marketer increased his support. “He gave me N7 million for the music video, funded the visuals, and even got me a car. He said I was a good market.”

Timaya went on to explain that the success of his first project paved the way for a more lucrative deal on his second album. According to him, after an initial N10 million offer, Abu Ventures eventually bought the album for a whopping N24 million.
