A coalition of women under the aegis of United Ebonyi Central Women for Positive Change has formally endorsed Christian Asaga Nwali for the Ebonyi Central Senatorial seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a communiqué issued on April 11, 2026, following an extraordinary consultative congress attended by women leaders, professionals, traders, and community stakeholders across Ikwo, Ezza South, Ezza North, and Ishielu local government areas, the group declared its unanimous support for Nwali, describing him as a “tested leader with proven commitment to humanity and community development.”
The women aligned themselves with the earlier 20-day ultimatum issued by the United Ikwo Youths for Good Governance, urging Nwali to formally declare his intention to contest the senatorial seat on or before April 24, 2026.
Highlighting his credentials, the group pointed to his role as Chairman of C-SAGAS Group and founder of the C-SAGAS Charity Foundation, noting his contributions to education, healthcare, infrastructure, and social welfare across communities in Ebonyi State and beyond.
The communiqué emphasized that Nwali’s track record of philanthropy and grassroots development positions him as a suitable candidate to represent Ebonyi Central in the Senate.
Beyond the senatorial endorsement, the group also threw its weight behind the re-election of Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru as Governor of Ebonyi State and Bola Ahmed Tinubu as President of Nigeria in 2027, citing what it described as their “giant developmental strides.”
The women further issued a strong call to action, urging women across the senatorial zone to mobilize at the grassroots, form support groups, and drive awareness for Nwali’s candidacy through community engagements, social platforms, and religious gatherings.
They also called on stakeholders, including traditional rulers, youth groups, and political actors, to rally behind Nwali, stressing the need for unity and strategic support to secure quality representation for Ebonyi Central.
The group warned that failure by Nwali to declare his ambition within the stipulated timeframe could prompt financial mobilization efforts to support the acquisition of nomination and expression of interest forms on his behalf under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The communiqué was signed by the Chairperson, Hon. Mrs. Margaret Ngozi Igwe, and Secretary, Hon. Mrs. Oluchi Onah, on behalf of the group.
