President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Nigerian women on the occasion of International Women’s Day, commending their resilience, strength, and contributions to national development.
In a message released on Sunday, the President celebrated women across Nigeria and in the diaspora for the vital roles they play in sustaining families, building businesses, and shaping the country’s future.
Tinubu noted that Nigerian women continue to demonstrate courage and determination across various sectors, including homes, farms, markets, offices, and leadership spaces.
He described women as mothers who nurture families, entrepreneurs who create economic opportunities, professionals who provide leadership, and citizens who contribute significantly to the nation’s progress.
The President also acknowledged the historical role women have played in Nigeria’s democratic journey and nation-building, noting that the country’s growth has been shaped by women who refused to be limited by societal barriers.
According to him, the government remains committed to creating an enabling environment where every Nigerian girl can access education and every woman can thrive economically and socially.
“When Nigerian women rise, Nigeria rises,” Tinubu stated, while reaffirming the need to support women’s participation in national development.
He concluded by honouring the sacrifices and achievements of women across the country and wishing them a happy International Women’s Day.
