Kenneth Eche-Ija Eyikwodani, a Benue-based businessman involved in an agricultural supply deal that failed to materialise, has taken full responsibility for the delay, citing logistics problems and expressing regret over the inconvenience caused.

In an interview with NAIJANEWSTODAY, Mr. Eyikwodani acknowledged that the breakdown in the transaction worth ₦4,126,000 was entirely due to shortcomings on his part.

“The delay was entirely due to logistics problems on my end,” he said. “I take full responsibility for everything that happened and sincerely regret the inconvenience it caused. I’m grateful I was able to refund the full amount and close the matter honorably.”

The funds had been paid in June 2025 by journalist and entrepreneur Alefia Friday James for the supply of 55 bags of 100kg garri from Benue State to Anambra State. According to Mr. James, the transaction faced several weeks of unresolved delays, compounded by poor communication.

However, she confirmed that Mr. Eyikwodani refunded the full amount, and clarified that the situation was not fraudulent.

“It’s important to note that the situation was not due to fraud or any intent to scam, but rather a failure in coordination and follow-through,” she stated in a public update.

Mr. James also called on the public to support honest business owners while encouraging accountability in all business dealings.

“Hopefully, with improved logistics and communication, future transactions will go smoothly,” she added.

The incident shows ongoing challenges in Nigeria’s informal supply chains, where logistical constraints and miscommunication often result in delayed or failed transactions.

Nonetheless, both parties appear to have resolved the matter amicably.
