EBHA Deputy Speaker loses mother

The Deputy Speaker of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chinedu Ogba Onah has lost his mother, Ezinne Elizabeth Igboke fondly known as Nwanyi Okwukwe.

Announcing the transition to glory, the Deputy Speaker on his Facebook, described his mother as a devoted Christian of Methodist church, a symbol of humility, virtuousness whose dedication and dint of hard work were responsible for the family’s divine survival and growth. He emphasized that the mother, Ezinne Elizabeth Igboke maintained uncompromising faith that significantly epitomised her uniqueness of motherhood and righteousness which earned her the honour of EZINNE.

Late Ezinne Elizabeth Igboke died in the early hours of 8th January 2026 after morning devotion. Her death has been described widely as a righteous and glorious exit given the circumstances at which she died.

Her exit has thrown the people of Abarigwe Umuogudu Oshia Ngbo, particularly, Bethel Methodist Church, Abarigwe where she worshiped into mourning as a result of the exemplary lifestyle.

She is survived by 6 children, including the lastborn, the Deputy Speaker of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chinedu Ogba Onah (Ojichiaga) and numerous grandchildren.
