CDCFIB Suspends Application After Asiwaju Media Reports on Glitches

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has announced the temporary suspension of its recruitment portal following widespread complaints from applicants and a detailed investigation by Asiwaju Media exposing the system’s technical failures.
The Board, in a statement signed by its Secretary, Maj. Gen. A.M. Jibril (rtd), said the portal — https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng — will remain inaccessible until Monday, July 21, 2025, to allow for system optimization and ensure a smoother application process.
“This development will ensure that the portal accommodates the high volume of applications while guaranteeing a smooth, transparent, and fair recruitment process,” the statement read.

The suspension comes after Asiwaju Media published a report titled “Nigerians Lament Frustration Over CDCFIB Recruitment Portal Failures,” which documented the experiences of applicants from all six geopolitical zones. The report highlighted widespread difficulties including error messages, broken pages, and failed submissions that rendered the portal largely unusable since the recruitment exercise began.
Many applicants interviewed described the process as frustrating and poorly managed, with several expressing concerns over the credibility of the recruitment. The media report sparked public outrage and renewed calls for transparency and accountability in government-led recruitment exercises.
CDCFIB has since acknowledged the challenges and assured Nigerians of its commitment to a fair and inclusive process. “We appreciate the enthusiasm and interest of young Nigerians to serve their country through these vital agencies,” the Board stated.
The recruitment portal is expected to resume operations on July 21, with authorities promising improved functionality and access for all eligible applicants.
