A Brazilian billionaire has reportedly left his entire estate to football star Neymar, despite claims the two never met.

According to Brazilian outlet RIC, the will — worth an estimated £846 million — was formalised in Porto Alegre and authenticated on June 12 in the presence of two witnesses. The matter is now pending clearance in Brazilian courts before Neymar can officially be recognised as the heir.

The unnamed businessman, who was reportedly single and childless, is said to have admired Neymar’s close family ties, particularly his bond with his father, Neymar Sr., which reminded him of his own late father. Local reports suggest this personal connection influenced his decision to name the forward as sole beneficiary.

Neymar, 33, has not publicly addressed the reports. Even if validated, the will could face legal complications.

The former PSG and Barcelona star returned to Brazil in January, rejoining Santos after a brief stint with Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal. He scored three goals in 14 matches in the second half of the 2024–25 season, adding to the 136 goals in 225 appearances he registered in his first spell at the club from 2009 to 2013.
