Yeni Kuti And PDP’s Segun Sowunmi Clash On Live TV Over Tinubu Visit

Media personality Yeni Kuti and PDP chieftain Segun Sowunmi got into a heated exchange during a live appearance on TVC’s Your View following Sowunmi’s recent visit to President Bola Tinubu.
Sowunmi, a former spokesperson for PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar and known critic of Tinubu, raised eyebrows after he was seen visiting the president at his Lagos residence over the weekend. The visit sparked backlash online, with many questioning his political allegiance.
During the Tuesday broadcast, Kuti questioned the intent behind Sowunmi’s visit and whether he planned to defect to the APC. She asked, “You’ve had a lot of criticism for the president, now your tune seems to have changed. When are you moving to the APC?”
Apparently irritated, Sowunmi fired back, “Although I cannot see who is asking those questions, I didn’t come to your programme so you can try to be cheeky with me. Stop that.”
Kuti, unfazed, replied, “I can’t be cheeky with you because I’m sure I’m older than you.”
Taken aback, Sowunmi softened his tone and said, “Oh sister o! My Aunty! I take that back. Please don’t be angry.”
Kuti, however, was not having it. “I’m not your aunty,” she snapped.
The tense moment has since made rounds online, sparking fresh conversations about political loyalty and media accountability.
