
In a competitive battle of vocals, Platoon 5 emerged the champion of the NYSC Camp Idol held at the NYSC Orientation Camp, Ipaja, Lagos last night.
The competition which was sponsored by Highway Extreme, a novel alcoholic drink brand, featured two segments namely; freestyle and reggae.



The contestants were judged based on their stage management, singing prowess, among other criteria.
Although each platoon put their best foot forward, contestants of platoons 1,3,10,5 and 8 were commended by the judges.



At the end, however, Platoon 5 coasted to victory with the contestant winning the ultimate prize of 30,000 naira. Emerging first runner up just behind Platoon 5 was Platoon 8 whose contestant won 20,000 naira while Platoon 3 made it into the top 3 by clinching third position, and the contestant rewarded with the sum of 10,000 naira.
As part of the event, Dorime Chief Priest was available to entertain the corps members.
