Philanthropist Donates to Orphanage, Elderly Home on Birthday

Dr. Ugochi Asaga Nwali, co-founder of the C-Sagas Charity Foundation, on Friday marked her birthday with donations to the less privileged in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital.
The philanthropist visited the Motherless Babies Home at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Onuebonyi, and the Elderly People’s Home in Kpirikpiri, where she donated food items, medical supplies, clothing, toiletries, and cash gifts.
Speaking during the visit, Dr. Nwali said she decided to use the occasion of her birthday to show love and support to those in need.
“This birthday is not just about me. It’s about using the opportunity to reach out to the vulnerable, to share love, and to give back to society,” she said.
She was accompanied by members of the C-Sagas Charity Foundation, who joined her in engaging with residents of the homes. The team interacted with the children and elderly persons, offering encouragement and emotional support.
Officials of the facilities expressed appreciation for the gesture, describing it as timely and impactful. They noted that the donations would go a long way in improving the welfare of the residents.
“We are grateful for this show of love. It will make a real difference in the lives of our children and the elderly in our care,” a staff member said.
Residents and community members also commended Dr. Nwali for her consistent commitment to humanitarian causes, describing her as a role model in the state.
She assured that the visit would not be a one-off, adding that her foundation would continue to support the two facilities through long-term programmes.
Dr. Nwali further revealed plans to roll out more charity projects aimed at addressing healthcare, education, and social welfare challenges in rural communities across Ebonyi State.
The event ended with prayers, songs of gratitude, and a call by the celebrant for more Nigerians to embrace acts of kindness.
“The joy of giving is priceless,” she added. “I encourage everyone, especially those who are blessed, to support those in need. Even a small gesture can change a life.”
