Nwifuru Disowns Fake TikTok Account, Warns Public Against Impersonators

The Ebonyi State Government has issued a public disclaimer distancing Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru from a TikTok account purportedly operated in his name.
In a statement released on Monday, the Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media, Leo Ekene Oketa, clarified that Governor Nwifuru does not own or operate any official TikTok account.
The statement listed the governor’s verified and officially recognised social media platforms as Facebook under Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru; Instagram and Threads via @francisogbonnanwifuru; and X (formerly Twitter) through @FrancisNwifuru.
While acknowledging the goodwill of supporters who promote the governor’s image and activities online, the state government cautioned members of the public to be vigilant and avoid engaging with unverified social media accounts, noting that such platforms could be used to scam or deceive unsuspecting individuals.
The government further urged the public to rely solely on the governor’s official communication channels for authentic information and updates.
The disclaimer was signed by Mr Oketa and dated February 2, 2026.
