No Deal With ADC – Adeleke Declares Loyalty To PDP

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has debunked claims suggesting he plans to defect to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) or align with its members ahead of the 2026 governorship election.
In a statement issued on Friday by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke described the reports as false and unfounded, insisting he remains firmly rooted in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
“Our attention has been drawn to news reports and media enquiries about the imminent defection of Governor Adeleke to the ADC or alignment with ADC big wigs ahead of the 2026 governorship race. There is no truth in those publications and speculations,” the statement read.
He clarified that the PDP in Osun had already endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election and that there was no existing or planned alliance with the ADC.
“Governor Adeleke has no alliance with anyone in ADC. He remains in PDP, will run in PDP, and needs no alliance with ADC to win with a wide margin in 2026,” the statement added.
The governor’s camp also pointed to his record of achievements in office as the reason for his strong public support, expressing confidence in a resounding re-election.
Adeleke urged PDP members across Osun State to continue strengthening party structures and intensifying preparations for another electoral victory in 2026.
