Nigerian Landlord Marries Former Tenant After Being Locked Out By Wife

A Nigerian landlord has revealed how repeated domestic troubles led him to leave his wife and eventually marry his former tenant.
Sharing his story on X (formerly Twitter), the man, identified as @tort_walec, said his wife frequently locked him out of the house for returning late. According to him, the final straw came in 2017 when she locked him out again, but this time, their “beautiful and kind-hearted” female tenant came to his rescue.
“In 2017, my wife locked me outside, but our beautiful, kind-hearted female tenant opened her door for me. In short, she’s not a tenant anymore. We now have three children,” he wrote.
He added that it wasn’t an isolated incident, as his wife had locked him out more than 20 times before he finally walked away from the marriage.
His story was shared during an online debate about whether a wife has the right to lock her husband out for coming home late. The post has since gone viral, stirring mixed reactions across social media.
