DJ Switch Blasts Buhari in Death, Says He Destroyed Nigeria

Nigerian disc jockey and activist, DJ Switch, has stirred reactions online following her comments on the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari, who passed away in London on Sunday, July 13, 2025.
Taking to her Instagram story, DJ Switch expressed no sympathy, stating that Buhari’s only legacy was the destruction of Nigeria.
“The sweet reality of inevitability. RIP MF. One down,” she wrote.
Amid backlash from some social media users over her remarks, she stood her ground, questioning what positive legacy Buhari left behind.
“Please tell me what is Buhari’s achievement apart from destroying Nigeria. When you are a bad leader, people will drink to your demise, but when you lead with fairness, people will mourn when you die.
I don’t need to prove my empathy to anybody. When I saw that news, it was like justice. Next on the list, T-Pain, how far?”
DJ Switch rose to prominence during the 2020 #EndSARS protests, when she live-streamed the violent crackdown on protesters at the Lekki Toll Gate. Since then, she has remained a vocal critic of government impunity and police brutality.
