Court Discharges, Acquits Suspended DCP Abba Kyari

A Federal High Court has discharged and acquitted suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police Abba Kyari, bringing a major legal battle involving the former senior police officer to an end.

In its ruling, the court held that the prosecution failed to present sufficient evidence to support the charges filed against Kyari. The judge ruled that the allegations did not meet the legal threshold required for conviction under the law.

Kyari, who once served as the head of the Intelligence Response Team of the Nigeria Police Force, had faced intense public scrutiny following investigations into alleged misconduct that attracted national and international attention.

The case had been widely followed across Nigeria due to Kyari’s prominent role in several high-profile criminal investigations during his time in office.
