Confusion Trails Online Rumours Claiming VeryDarkMan Is Dead

Social media has been awash with claims that Nigerian social media personality and activist, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, is dead.
However, checks by NAIJA NEWS TODAY show there is no credible confirmation to support the claim.
The rumours began circulating late Friday across X, Instagram and TikTok, with several posts alleging that the influencer had died following a heated online confrontation involving another content creator, King Mitchy.

Some viral videos suggested both individuals consumed hazardous substances during livestream sessions, further fuelling speculation.
As of press time, there has been no official statement from VeryDarkMan’s family, representatives, law enforcement authorities or any medical institution confirming his death.
A review of major Nigerian news platforms also shows that none has reported his death as a verified development. Instead, available reports describe the situation as unconfirmed and caution against spreading misinformation.
The controversy appears to stem from an ongoing online dispute between VeryDarkMan and King Mitchy, which has attracted significant public attention in recent days. A private hospital in Abuja reportedly denied claims that King Mitchy had died at its facility, further casting doubt on the viral narrative.
Efforts to obtain clarification from individuals associated with VeryDarkMan were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report.
NAIJA NEWS TODAY advises the public to rely on verified information from credible sources and to refrain from sharing unconfirmed claims, particularly those involving matters of life and death.
