ADC Ebonyi Holds Successful Congress, Re-Elects Adibe-Nwafor as Chairman

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ebonyi State has concluded its state congress with the re-election of Dr. Mrs. Jennifer Adibe-Nwafor as State Chairman.

The congress took place on April 11, 2026, at Aristocrat Hotels along Ezza Road in Abakaliki, drawing a large turnout of party members and stakeholders from all 13 Local Government Areas of the state.

Also in attendance were support groups within the party, including members of the Kwankwasiyan movement, as well as representatives of various media organizations.

Despite reported attempts by some influential stakeholders to disrupt the exercise, the congress was conducted peacefully. Party members maintained order, ensuring the process was completed without interruption.

Dr. Adibe-Nwafor emerged through a consensus arrangement and was returned unopposed, reflecting strong support for her leadership within the party.

In her acceptance speech, she thanked members for their confidence and pledged to run an inclusive administration. She urged party faithful and new entrants not to be discouraged by internal disagreements, assuring them of stability within the party.

She also expressed confidence in the party’s prospects ahead of the 2027 general elections, emphasizing unity and grassroots mobilization as key priorities.

The successful congress is seen as a sign of renewed stability and direction for the ADC in Ebonyi State.
