A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Emeka Chiefo, has formally declared his intention to contest for the Ebonyi Central Senatorial seat in Ebonyi State, setting the stage for what is expected to be a keenly contested race in the district.
In a statement made available to the public, Chiefo expressed his readiness to succeed Engr. Ken, while appealing to constituents for their trust and support. He urged the people of Ebonyi Central to “give him his flowers,” emphasizing that their confidence in him would be rewarded with quality representation.
Chiefo acknowledged the contributions of Engr. Eze, noting that while efforts have been made in the past, he believes he can deliver improved leadership and greater development for the district.
“I believe I will do better. Support me and you will be glad you did,” he stated.
The ADC chieftain also stressed his commitment to inclusive governance, declaring that he “belongs to everybody and belongs to no one,” a remark interpreted as a pledge to serve all constituents without bias or favoritism.
He further called on members of the party to remain united and focused, urging them to work collectively toward victory in the upcoming election.
“ADC, arise and shine Nigeria,” he concluded.
Political analysts note that his declaration adds momentum to early political activities in Ebonyi Central, as aspirants begin to signal their interest ahead of the senatorial contest in Ebonyi State.
