The Vice-Chancellor of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike (AE-FUNAI), Daniel Nwachukwu, has urged newly admitted students of the university to remain focused on their academic goals, stressing that discipline, hard work and consistency are critical to success in the university environment.
Prof. Nwachukwu gave the advice while addressing students during the institution’s 14th matriculation ceremony, where over 5,000 freshmen were formally admitted into various academic programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session.
According to him, gaining admission into the university marks the beginning of an important academic journey that requires dedication and personal responsibility from every student.
He advised the freshmen to attend lectures regularly, complete their assignments diligently and actively engage with their lecturers in order to make the most of their university education.
The Vice-Chancellor emphasized that academic excellence cannot be achieved without sustained commitment, urging the students to cultivate strong study habits and maintain a disciplined lifestyle throughout their time at the institution.
He also encouraged them to see their admission not merely as an opportunity to obtain academic certificates but as a platform for personal growth, innovation and leadership development.
Prof. Nwachukwu further assured the students that the university would continue to provide a supportive learning environment and the necessary resources to help them succeed in their academic pursuits.
