Crisis brews in ADC as faction petitions US over alleged hijack of party

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ebonyi State has announced an urgent meeting involving key party stakeholders as preparations intensify for the 2027 general elections.

According to a notice issued by the State Chairman, Jennifer Adibe-Nwafor, the meeting will bring together members of the State Executive Committee, all 13 Local Government Area (LGA) chairmen, and aspirants seeking to contest under the ADC platform in 2027.

The meeting is scheduled to hold on Saturday, April 23, 2026, at the party’s state secretariat located along Old Enugu Road in Kpirikpiri, Abakaliki. Proceedings are expected to begin at 12 noon, with attendees required to be seated before the commencement time.

Key items on the agenda include the appraisal of the party’s membership e-registration process, discussions on party primaries, and other critical issues to be disclosed at the venue.

Party officials emphasized that attendance is strictly by invitation, underscoring the importance of the meeting in shaping the party’s strategy and internal structure ahead of the upcoming elections.
