Akunakuna-Amegu community in Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State is set to benefit from a solar-powered borehole project following growing concerns over water scarcity in the area.

The intervention, approved by philanthropist and Chairman of the C-Sagas Group, Christian Asaga Nwali, comes in response to public outcry by residents who have long struggled with access to potable water.

Dr. Nwali, who also founded the C-Sagas Charity Foundation, said the project aligns with his commitment to improving living conditions in underserved rural communities. He noted that access to clean water remains a fundamental necessity and should not be beyond the reach of any community.

According to him, the solar-powered borehole will provide a sustainable and reliable water source while leveraging renewable energy to ensure long-term efficiency.

The initiative is also expected to complement ongoing efforts by the Ebonyi State Government and Ikwo Local Government authorities in addressing basic infrastructure needs.

Residents have welcomed the development, expressing hope that it will significantly reduce the health risks associated with unsafe water sources and improve overall wellbeing in the community.

The project is scheduled to commence immediately, with a focus on durability, efficiency, and sustainability.
