Wike Challenges El-Rufai To Bet, Insists Tinubu Will Win 2027 Presidential Election

Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike has challenged former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai to a bet over the outcome of the 2027 presidential election.
Speaking during a media chat on Monday, Wike dismissed El-Rufai’s recent claim that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would finish third in the next election, describing the prediction as “flawed mathematics.”
“El-Rufai is my friend, but he failed in this mathematics. He goofed. Since he knows Tinubu will come third, he should also provide who will be first and second,” Wike said.
The minister expressed confidence in Tinubu’s re-election bid and said he was ready to stake a bet on it if El-Rufai would agree. “I will place a bet if El-Rufai agrees, if Tinubu doesn’t win the 2027 election securely,” he added.
