Labour Party Names Usman Nenadi Interim Chair, Unveils Congress Timetable

The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Labour Party has appointed Senator Usman Nenadi as the party’s Interim National Chairman and Senator Darlington Nwokocha as Interim National Secretary.
The appointments were made during the party’s NEC meeting held on Friday in Abuja, where members unanimously agreed to establish an interim leadership structure pending the conduct of a national convention.
The newly constituted interim working committee will be responsible for managing all party affairs until fresh elections are held to elect a new NEC.
As part of the resolutions reached at the meeting, the NEC also approved a comprehensive schedule for the conduct of congresses across all levels — including ward, local government, state, and zonal levels — culminating in a national convention.
The party’s National Secretariat has been directed to release the full guidelines and timelines for these congresses, to ensure a transparent and democratic process across the board.
