The Adamawa State Government has honored Super Falcons coach, Justin Madugu, for leading Nigeria’s women’s national team to their 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title.
Madugu, a native of Numan Local Government Area in Adamawa, was presented with a three-bedroom bungalow and a ₦50 million cash gift by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri during a ceremony held at the Government House in Yola on Friday, August 1.
Governor Fintiri praised Madugu’s leadership and tactical abilities, describing the team’s success as a moment of pride for both Adamawa and the entire country.
In response, Madugu expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the government and people of Adamawa for the gesture.
“I’m overwhelmed by what is happening today. I thank God and the government of Adamawa State for this recognition,” he said.
Reflecting on his journey, he added, “When I took up this role, I saw it as a challenge to prove that northerners, too, can lead at the highest levels. It was a personal mission to leave a legacy that will inspire respect for our state.”
